Good morning in the news this morning.

A man died Monday morning after he was stabbed outside of a Wawa in South Philadelphia police, say.

According to police, the stabbing happened at 4.15 a.m. in the parking lot of the store on the 1600 block of South Columbus Boulevard.

The victim was stabbed in the lower abdomen and rushed to Jefferson University Hospital where he died.

Police are now using store cameras to get a better description of a

possible suspect and motive. The investigation is ongoing. Police are also investigating after

four men broke into a home and assaulted a man in northeast Philadelphia. That incident happened

at 2.30 on the 6900 block of Horik Street. Police say four unknown men, two of which were armed,

forced entry through a

basement door. They then assaulted a 41-year-old man and took approximately $28,000 in

various currency from the man, $10,000 in coins, $10,000 in checks, and then $8,000 in cash.

They also took the man's 2019, white Toyota with keys. Police say the men were wearing dark clothing and fled in an

unknown direction. The victim refused medical treatment. No arrests were made and no weapons were

recovered. An investigation remains active. The U.S. has almost reached the end of the full-blown

pandemic and could reach immunity levels sufficient to limit the spread of the virus soon, said Dr.

Anthony Fauci. Local health officials should feel comfortable ending mask mandates when that happens,

the White House top public health advisor said. He said such restrictions could pass into history this

year. Some of that optimism has been fueled by the steady decline in daily U.S. infections.
