Good morning in the news this morning. Residents in Bradner Township are expressing some concern over the opening of a new business. The controversy centers around a new CBD, Cradam store,

and self-identified cannabis dispensary located on East Lancaster Avenue in Wayne. CBD is a compound

that's found in cannabis that won't get you high. According to the Mayo Clinic, Cradam is often marketed

as a treatment

for muscle pain and cramps. The plant

generally grown in Southeast Asia is

also prompted as an aid

in overcoming opioid

withdrawal. The shop opened

late last week and was immediately shut down

over concerns of code compliance and failure

to seek proper permits.

Okay, so who's upset about this and why?

Well, it's, I live near there and so this used to be a Starbucks. In fact, years ago it was a

tire store. It's this weird round shape building. It was the worst. It's like the worst to get in

and out and those big like bars that are in front of the building. And there's a beer distributor right behind it. And right maybe two, three months after the pandemic began, that Starbucks shut down. It's been empty ever since. But Preston, the main concern is that there is a Catholic school called SKS right around the corner from there. And then there's Radnor Middle School. So they are concerned that the CBD and medical marijuana shop is right near two schools.

Okay. How many beer distributors are around there? Well, there's a beer distributor literally that you can walk to this right behind it.

Listen, I get it. It's years and years and years of the marijuana fear thing that's still, fortunately, it's going away a little bit here.

But I go to a dispensary. I have medical marijuana card. The only people that I see in the waiting room are people that are in pain. Yeah. And older people that need a cane and so on, and they're going for a medical reason for this stuff. And I'm telling you, from experience, it's not what these people think it is.
