Good morning. In the news this morning, the Delaware Valley has been hit with cold temperatures below zero wind chills and icy roads. Standing water turned into patches of ice causing dangerous conditions for

morning commuters. Drivers are urged to take caution as black ice is hard to detect. Now,

AAA says they received the most calls concerning dead batteries during frigid times like these.

Not only can roads be treacherous, but also sidewalks.

The patches of vice are going to be the main issue today.

A cold blue went into effect over the weekend in Philadelphia on Sunday night.

Members of Project Home Canvas, the streets, encouraging the homeless to seek shelter.

Now, it is going to be sunny today, but with strong gusty winds, bitter wind chills as well.

The high, like Preston said, only 17 degrees with gusts up to 40 miles per hour through the morning. The wind chills will be below zero, making this a dangerously cold day. There's actually a wind chill advisory in effect until 1 o'clock for the entire area. It seems, Kathy, that the original forecast was that the rain would sort of buttress up more to the freezing weather. Well, the flash freeze never happened. Right, yeah. So I guess we didn't get, you know, how it was supposed to. Right. But also. But also. But also, you're saying, like, there was supposed to still be precipitation on the ground that was going to freeze over. And it's pretty much gone. Yeah. Yeah. Yep. They're saying just patches is what you have to look out for.

So frostbite and hypothermia can all occur if precautions are not taken in way like this. Make sure you bundle up multiple layers and cover up as much as your skin as possible if you're going to be outside. They're saying even for a short period of time. Do you know what I realize? I don't know how to work a scarf.

Now, speaking of the cold, also this. Listen, passengers on a United Airlines flight that left Saturday from Newark bound for Hong Kong was left stuck in the aircraft on the ground for more of the 14 hours in freezing temperatures after the plane was diverted to Canada because of a medical emergency.

That's insane.

14 hours.

I mean, somebody could have got them off, right?

It starts to get boring around 12 hours.
