In the news this morning, the stabbing death of a Philadelphia foster mom and a death

investigation into the discovery of a body found in a duffel bag may be connected. So this is a pretty

long story, so follow along. It was just after 1 a.m. Wednesday when Renee Gilliard's family went

searching for her at her home in the 300 block of Mechanic Street. The 64-year-old mother of a police

officer and foster mom couldn't be reached.

So I reported this story a few days ago. She was found murdered in her bathtub and stabbed

and with a defensive wounds police said her purse was dumped out and her SUV was gone.

So was her 17-year-old foster son. We believe that he was quite possibly the last person to see Ms.

Gileurter lives at Captain of Homicide Jason Smith. Just after 11 a.m., that he was quite possibly the last person to see Ms. Gileard alive, said Captain of

homicide Jason Smith. Just after 11 a.m. that SUV was recovered by police as it smashed into a

truck and caught fire in the 4,300 block of Sandson Street. Now, inside the SUV were 14th, including

person of interest, said Smith.

At a press conference, police connected that teen with two others who had been reported missing in the last few weeks.

The first was Jimmy Mayo, whose family had been receiving ransom texts since he disappeared from the foster home on December 29th.

The teen in question in the death of Gilliard once lived in the same foster home as Mayo at one point.
