Let's dive into everything baseball related from Sunday, April 26th.

We'll start it off, as always, with the transactions, injuries, news and notes from around the league,

kicking things off with the bad news as closing pitcher Clayton Beater was placed on the 15-day

IL with forearm soreness.

The move was made retroactive to April 23rd, but Beater has it pitched since April 21st. And while any arm injury

is concerning, this is already a prolonged absence from Beater. So this might require a longer

than minimum stint on the IL. I'd expect Gus Farland to be the go-to option for the Nationals,

considering he's

recorded two saves already this season, which was as many as Beater had before he got

injured. However, relief pitcher Paxton Schultz, who was recalled from the minors in a corresponding

move, actually recorded the first save without Beater on Sunday as Varland pitched a perfect eighth

in a tie game.

Richard Lovelady pitched a scoreless ninth and Schultz worked around the zombie runner scoring

in the 10th.

I think I'd still lean Gus Farland as the go-to options for saves in our nation's capital.

The Nationals also recalled relief pitcher Andre Gremeo from the minors and optioned

first baseman Andres Shapiro to the miners in a corresponding move. Next we have catcher Logan

O'Hoppy who was placed on the 10-day IL with a fractured left wrist. O'Hoppy was struck by a foul
