Let's dive into everything baseball related from Monday, April 27th.

We'll start it off as always with the transactions, injuries, news and notes from around the league, kicking things off with the bad news as starting pitcher Max Scherzer was placed on the 15-day IL with forearm tendonitis and ankle inflammation.

A double whammy there.

Scherzer, though, is not expecting a lengthy absence, but will rest for the next five to seven days.

He's pretty late into his career, and the Blue Jays probably won't rush him back. So while he does expect a minimum stay, I wouldn't be surprised if he's out for longer than that.

Replacing Scherzer will be Trey Y Savage, who returns from the IL to start today.

Relief pitcher Chase Lee was recalled from the minors in a corresponding move.

And lastly, Tanner Murray was placed on the 10-day IL by the White Sox with a shoulder dislocation and

fracture that's got a hurt.

Outfielder Austin Hayes was activated from the 10-day IL in a corresponding move.

He has missed the past couple weeks with a hamstring strain, and Hayes will be on the

short side of a left field platoon for the White Sox moving forward.

But unfortunately, that calf injury will now send Stanton to the 10-day IL.
