the novitiate. Known for his cheerful and warm personality, Gabriel embraced his vocation

with a deep commitment. He was diligent in prayer, unfailingly kind to others,

and strict with himself in following the passionate rule, though always under the guidance of

his superiors. His humility and self-discipline made a lasting impression on both his fellow

religious and those who knew him.

Gabriel superiors had high hopes for him as he prepared for the priesthood,

but just four years into his religious life, he began showing signs of tuberculosis.
