I think a lot of us pray quiet prayers silently in our head, but I'm starting to wonder what

we're missing by never letting our prayers actually have a voice. Welcome back to Dad Tired Daily.

Dadtire.com. So yesterday, my wife and I were getting ready for the day. And I could tell

something was just off in her. She was quieter and seemed sad and like something was bothering her.

I'm actually going to share a little bit about what that was tomorrow on tomorrow's episode.

But I just felt in the moment kind of, I don't know, I always, you know me if you listen to the Jazz Hired podcast, I try not to over spiritualize things or make things weirder than they need to be. But sometimes I get a sense in my gut, like I should do something, like almost as if God is prompting me to do something. And I believe God does that. The Spirit of God

lives in us and he prompts us to do things. And so I felt the sense that I needed to pray for her.

And even being married 16 years, even being in ministry, over 20 years, there's still something

in me that's like, you know, you can feel awkward doing that.

Does this feel like a wrong time? Does this feel like you're forcing something? But despite my

kind of wrestling internally, whether this would be awkward or if I should do this or should I not

do this, whatever, I just told her like, let me pray for you. And I just put my arm around her

and I kind of brought her in. And I prayed over her

and the situation that was causing her some sadness. At the end of the prayer, I could sense that she

had felt a little bit of relief. Obviously, it did not fix all the problems. It did not relieve

everything that she was feeling. But it did kind of bring the intensity of her sadness down and it's it brought some calmness to her and she went on to finish getting ready but throughout the rest of the day i kept thinking to myself like man why don't i do that more why don't i pray for my wife and my kids more i'm embarrassed to say that I don't do it as much as I ought to.

And so I just made this kind of quiet goal. I didn't plan on sharing this. And, you know, I didn't

share with her or I didn't talk to my kids about this, but I guess I'm making it public now

by sharing it with you. But I kind of made this quiet goal in my head to just start praying
