Hump day as we move through the center of our week together,

this first week of this new month.

So a few days ago we had this shiny sparkling new week in front of us and now

we're at the summit of it and we'll bring it down for a landing in a few days.

Let's check in with ourselves.

How are we doing?

Man, here in the scriptures, or in the book of Ecclesiasties, which makes us think about everything,

all of the things that we chase out of our boredom or out of our drivenness or out of our

wandering or out of our compulsions or even out of our successes.

Ecclesiasties is kind of asking this question,

what is the point of this?

When it ends up being chasing after the wind. That's confronting. That's also necessary.

also the Bible.

And so, we're here to take the next step forward and that next step will be in the

Book of Ecclesiasties, today, chapters 7, 8, and 9.

A good reputation is more valuable than costly perfume and the day you die is better than the day you are born.
