I am grateful that we can be here today.

Now we have a place to go and allow the scriptures to come into our lives and give

us clarity and direction for the paths that we choose and the paths that we are on.

So I'm excited that we can continue the journey today.

We began two different books, one in the Old Testament,

Lamentations, and then yesterday we read the entire

letter, Paul's final letter in the New Testament,

to Philemon.

And so we'll be moving into some new territory that will camp out in for a while

when we get to the New Testament today

known as the Book of Hebrews and we'll talk about that when we get there

but before we get there we need to take the next step forward in the book of

lamentations step forward in the book of Lamentations. A book certainly full of sorrow.

It's five poems of sorrow and sadness and regret and it gives language to those emotions and I doubt

there's anybody that is unfamiliar at all with those emotions.
