Welcome to the Daily Audio Bible. I am Brian.

It's great to be here with you today as we gather yet again like we do every day. Come in from the

chaos, come into the oasis, this little safe place we have, and I'll take the next step forward together.

So we're working our way as we're, well aware, through the Book of First Samuel.

We are working through the life of King's Hall. We are also getting to know

David, this guy who's going to be King, it's probably that's a spoiler but we probably know that.

We're finding out how it is that he would become king.

But we're also seeing character issues front and center and it's a mirror into our own lives as we

look at King Saul and and David who is currently in the story running from his life, the king wants to assassinate

him.

So we pick up the story today, First Samuel, Chapter's 22 and 23.

So David departed from there and escaped to the cave at Edulum.

When his brothers and his father's entire household heard about it, they went down to join him

there.

Everyone who was in distress, everyone who was in debt,

was discontented, gathered around him,

and he became their commander.

There were about 400 men with him.

David went from there to Mitzpah and Moab, and he said to the King of Moab,

please let my father and mother come and stay with you

until I find out what God will do for me.
