I'm Brian.

It is wonderful to be back together again.

Another day.

Another step.

Back into our safe place.

Back into our oasis. back into our warm, cozy campfire that we get to make and create every day.

I'm grateful again to be here.

I'm grateful that we can lay down all of the chaos of it all and come in here and just gather and allow the scriptures to bring perspective, to bring whatever they bring to us.

And maybe that changes the perspective of how we navigate all the things that we carried in

and left outside the campfire maybe we just leave some of them behind we don't need them

or maybe we get wisdom and how to navigate them the bible has its way doesn't it

so i am I'm grateful that we can be here.

Grateful for the territory that we are moving through each and every day. Right now,

that territory has us in First Samuel, where we are learning of the life and times of Israel's first king, King Saul,

and learning quite a bit about his character and his integrity that is clouded by his fears and insecurities and pride. And man, there's so much,

so much for us. Yesterday that led him into doubling down on killing his own son.

And the thing he feared most in his pride and insecurity,

humiliation, that he doesn't look like the king,

that he's not being honored like the king.

He doubles down on killing his own son and the people are like,
