Today is the 13th day of May.

I am Brian and once again it's a pleasure.

It's a joy to be here around the global campfire together as we continue our daily journey every single day

navigating through the scriptures. I'm grateful to be here. How are you? It's good to see you. It's good to see you.

It's good to see you. I haven't to see you. It's good to see you. I haven't been here

in a while. Good to see you. Good to see you here every day. Good to see everybody. Good to be here.

Grateful that we can take another step forward on our journey in a community that is quite remarkable.

So, 13th day of May, the 20th, 13th day of May, as we navigate through our 20th year together.

And so for the 20th time, we come to this territory,

1st Samuel chapter 14,

which is what we'll read today,

and we are getting to know,

we are transitioning into the kingship,

into the time in the lives of the children of Israel when there was a monarchy.

And we're getting to understand Israel's first king.

We've already got to understand quite a bit.

His name is Saul.

And he's got some of his own personal struggles and issues, things that we all face

to certain degrees, is fear of man, his fear of what people think about him, his insecurities,

in his self and in his leadership that kind of color things, the way

that he will double down on something that is wrong.
