Be here with you today. It's a joy to be around the global campfire. I'm glad that we can come back

together again. I'm glad every day.

Grateful.

Need it.

Need to be here.

Need this rhythm.

And so grateful that we have it and that we can move forward together the next step.

And so, I mean, our next step is a pretty big step.

We've been in the time of the judges, right?

So we read the book of judges, which has some pretty crazy stories in it.

We read the book of Ruth, which occurs at the time of the judges.

Now we're kind of migrating into a whole new era of things.

And our next book is called First Samuel.

Samuel was the final judge of Israel. So we've been in the times of the judges, and we'll be migrating out of the times of the judges with Samuel. And moving forward to what comes next.

So as we begin this, we'll first learn about Samuel.

Because he's got a really remarkable story of his own.

Samuel then will eventually lead us into the time of the monarchy.

So Israel's first king, and his name will be Saul,

and we'll find Allah a challenging parallels, mirrors into our own souls as we look at Saul's life.

And then we'll meet a man named David.

We just read of David's lineage in the book of Ruth and where he came from.
