It's great to be here with you today.

What an honor here in the month of May to be around the global campfire together

and continue this vast and encompassing journey

that takes us all the way through the Bible together.

And we've come all the way to, well, the 6th of May, which puts us in the book of Ruth

at this point. We'll actually finish the book of Ruth at this point.

We'll actually finish the story of Ruth today.

And we've talked about this a little bit.

Man, after the book of judges, the story of Ruth is a breath of fresh spring air,

even though Ruth happens in the time of the judges.

So, let's continue and complete the book of Ruth today with chapters 2, 3, and 4.

Now... and four. Now, Naomi had a relative on her husband's side of the family named Boaz.

He was a wealthy, prominent man from the clan of Limelech.

One day, Ruth, the Moabite, said to Naomi, let me go to the fields so I can gather grain

behind whoever permits me to do so.

Naomi replied, you may go, my daughter.

So Ruth went and gathered grain in the fields behind the harvesters.

Now, she just happened to end up in the portion of the field belonging to Boaz, who was from the clan of Alimelech.

Now, at that very moment, Boaz arrived from Bethlehem and greeted the harvesters.
