It's great to be here with you today.

Today and every day. Every day we show up for each other no matter

what's going on we show up to this one place that's a safe place for us to just listen to the scriptures and move our way through the Bible and

so delighted. I guess that's a good word.

Delighted.

That we can be together today and take that next step forward.

And so let's do it. We are in the book of Second Kings right now.

Moving through the annals of the kings of the Northern Kingdom of Israel and the Southern

Kingdom of Judah and the thread that's kind of weaving

through is the Prophet Elisha and so continuing forward 2 Kings chapter 9 9, 4, through 10, verse 31 today.

Then Jéhu, son of Jeho, Johjefat, son of Nimshi, conspired against Joram.

Now Joram had been in Raimoth Gilead with the whole Israelite army guarding against an invasion by King

Heseo of Syria. But King Joram had returned to Jazrael to recover from the

wounds he received from the Syrians when he fought against King Heseo of

Syria.

Jehu told his supporters,

if you really want me to be king,

then don't let anyone escape from the city to go and warn Jezreel.
