I am Brian and it is a joy to be here with you today.

I am grateful to be here with you today.

As we gather again for our next step forward,

the journey through the Bible together that is well underway.

We're way out.

Like we left the harbor on January 1st.

We're almost halfway through our journey,

so we're out in the deep.

We're out in the middle.

I guess if we're on a ship, if that's our metaphor, then there's no side of land anywhere

at this point.

We're in this together, sailing through it all.

And I am glad if we're using that metaphor to be on this ship with you

on the grand voyage through the scriptures

and so since we're out here in the deep

let's take the next step forward

we're working our way through second kings

and um we're kind of We're working our way through Second Kings,

and we're kind of tracking along quite a bit with the prophet Elijah,

and we'll continue that sum today.
