to be here with you today as we gather again

around the global campfire and take the next step forward.

Oh, we had so much irony yesterday

as we were in First Kings, with the Prophet Elijah running for

his life after such a dramatic showdown, such an about face.

And we're exploring that.

And we kind of brought that scene to a close yesterday,

but we're in Kings.

So we're moving through the times of the Kings.

And so today, First Kings,

Chapter 20 and 21.

King Benedict of Syria gathered all his troops and supported by 32 other rulers

with their horses and chariots he marched up, they'd siege to Sumeria and launched attacks. and

launched attacks against it.

He sent messengers into the city to King Ahab of Israel to say,

King Benadad demands that you surrender to him your silver and gold, your women, and the

strongest of your children.

Tell my lord, King Benadadad that I agree you can have me and everything I own

Ahab answered. Later the messengers came back to Ahab with another demand from Benedad.

I sent you word that you were to hand over to me your silver and gold, your women and your children.
