Today is the 17th day of June. Welcome to the Daily Audio Bible. I'm Brian. It's great to be here.

It's great to have a place to be and this is the place that we lovingly refer to as the global

campfire.

Because here we are right we're gathered together no matter where we are and we're all over the place. I'm here on the

rolling hills of Tennessee and you are where you are and we are together in this place

and we gather here of course every day and help to show up for each other and we show up for each other so that we can take the next step forward together and that leads us

through the entire Bible in a year. So we have navigated our way all the way into the

times of the different kings that reined over this

chosen people.

They're not like a united people anymore. They were at one time 12 tribes

But then they united together as a nation the nation of Israel and they had a king

things didn't go so well. It got really messy politically.

And so the kingdoms have divided and there's a northern kingdom of Israel and

a southern kingdom of Judah, which makes it a little tedious because we've got to keep up with

kings of two different nations who are leading the same family of tribes, but we've got two leaders and this

family feuds are happening constantly. And so at this point we've wound our way through some of the kings and some of the

generations and we've met a prophet. His name is Elijah. And so he figures

prominently at this point in the story because the generations have

happened and God is displeased and so he has sent a prophet who has said look to get your

attention there's not going to be any rain and so understand that this is from

God because of what you are doing, you are rebelling, but it's much deeper than just disobedience.
