I am Brian.

It is fantastic to be here with you today as we gather yet again here around the global

campfire. This rich oasis that we create for ourselves each day.

A place of serenity and calm, a place where,

well, a place where the truth will be spoken because our mission here is to read the scriptures in their entirety and absorb them together.

So let's exhale. We're here in the middle of it all. Plenty is happening. We still have

plenty of this week left. Let's live into this correctly orienting ourselves to God through his word.

Today we will continue with our journey in 2nd Samuel. I'm kind of winding down. We've heard of King David's life.

We've seen sort of the ups and downs of it. And at this point we're kind of summing things up who were the important

people in David's kingdom who were the important warriors and elite warriors around David.

And we're listening to those.

One of those mighty warriors that we're gonna hear a name, like we're going to hear a name repeated again.

And his name will be Uriah, the Hittites.

He was a mighty warrior named as one of the 30 mightiest warriors in Israel around King David.

Bath Sheba was his wife.

David had one of his mightiest, most loyal servants killed. He didn't get away with it as we've read and he obviously

didn't get away with it because we're reading it thousands of years later

so it's memorialized for all time the humiliating evil of David.

But we see this name again, so I'm just mentioning.

It was a really bad thing for Uriah.
