I am Brian.

It's great to be here with you today

as we greet a brand new shiny sparkling week

And here we go off into it. There's only one way to go that is forward. And so we're going to have this weaker, it's going to have us.

Let's choose wisely. And obviously one of the ways that we do that is to come here together around the global campfire

and just allow the scriptures to speak into our lives, to speak for themselves.

And so let's do that.

We're in the book of First Chronicles in the Old Testament

moving forward through the life of David.

Today, First Chronicles chapter 16 verse 37 through 18 verse 17. David arranged for Aesf and his fellow Levites to serve regularly before the

Ark of the Lord's Covenant doing whatever needed to be done each day.

This group included Obed Edum, son of Jedithan, Oza, and 68 other Levites as gatekeepers.

Meanwhile, David stationed Zaidah, the priest and his fellow priests at the

tabernacle of the Lord at the place of worship in Gibeon, where they continued to minister before the Lord.

They sacrificed the regular burn offerings to the Lord each morning and evening on the

altar set aside for that purpose, obeying everything written in the law of the Lord

as he had commanded Israel.

David also appointed Heeman, Jedethan, and the others chosen by name to give thanks to the Lord for his faithful love endures forever.

They use their trumpets, symbols, and other instruments to accompany their songs of praise to God,

and the sons of jettethan were appointed as gatekeepers.
