Welcome to the Daily Audio Bible.

I'm Brian. It is wonderful to be here with you today,

as we gather again around the global

campfire. Take another step forward together. We'll take that step forward

well we're just seated here around the global

camp I don't know how that all that works but it does it works every single day

and so here we are let's take that next step forward. We're in the book of Second Kings.

Some pretty dramatic things have happened.

The kingdom of Israel in the north,

the ten tribes in the north have been deported to Assyria.

And so that whole region that was the land of Israel

is now a part of the Assyrian Empire.

And the Israelites no longer live there.

Other foreign peoples have been imported.

And so a series trying to conquer the southern kingdom of Judah, they fail at conquering Jerusalem. Kings Sinacarib has to withdraw. He's assassinated by

his sons. Jerusalem is saved. King He's a caaya humbles himself before the Lord.

He's a really good King.

And we will finish up with Hezakaya today.

Second Kings, chapter 20, verse 1, 2, 2.

In those days, Hazakaya became sick and was dying.
