Today is the third day of July. Welcome to the Daily Audio Bible.

I'm Brian.

It's great to be here with you today as we gather again and get ourselves moved in and settled into this

seventh month of the year. Day by day step by step we navigate it all day by day

together through the scriptures and so we've come to this day

and our step for today leads us back into the book of Second Kings.

We're not really keeping up with the different kings of the two nations that have become Israel, the Northern

Kingdom of Israel and the Southern Kingdom of Judah. We've been kind of tracking

along with those kings.

We may notice that we're only tracking along with the kings of Judah

at this point, because there is no more Israel.

It has no king because it does not exist.

Those tribes have been carried away.

They are now part of the Assyrian Empire and that I mean we'll never will never see them as

tribes again in the Bible the best we will have as a glimpse at all will be a really mixed people called Samaritans.

So we will be concluding this chronicling of the Kings tomorrow.

We'll kind of then go right back into the same territory again as we go through the books of

chronicles and we'll be looking at this same stuff, the same time period, time slice from a different perspective.

We'll talk about that when we get there. But this is where we are at this point in our journey in the scriptures.
