Welcome to the Daily Audio Bible. I am Brian.

It's great to be here with you today.

Wow, so here we are six months behind us, six months in front of us. This is the

center. Today is the one hundred eighty-third day of the year since its sleep year and that's how far we have come together

each day around the global campfire and what we'll do is keep doing what we do.

And we'll just keep going forward and the months will pass and will reach the end of our journey together.

But we're in the middle of it now. It's great to be here with you. Well done for

getting here. Oh this is going to be good as we continue. So we're in the book of

Second Kings. That's where we find ourselves here in the center of the year.

The Assyrian Empire has come and defeated the nation of Israel, the Northern Kingdom of Israel, and exiled them, taken them away and

brought other people into the land. There is no more Kingdom of Israel. Those 10 tribes are gone.

They'll never be seen again.

They'll never return again.

They're assimilated into the empire.

They're gone. And we should let that sink in we'll talk

about that some more as we go but that's where we find ourselves at this point

today second Kings chapter 18 verse 13 through 19

verse 37 In King Hazakaya's 14th year, Sanakarib, King of Assyria, came up against all the fortified

cities of Judah and seized them.

Then Hezekiah, King of Judah, sent a message to the King of Assyria at Lacish.

I have done wrong. Withdraw from me. Whatever you impose on me I will pay.
