Welcome back to the global campfire.

It is fantastic, as always, to see you.

Very grateful to be here.

This is my safe place, too. And I'm glad that we can make it for each other every

day as we come in and kind of leave the cares, responsibilities, obligations, stuff, all the stuff

outside the circle. And just come in where it's warm and be here together

and let the scriptures go wherever they go, wherever they take us. And they have led us into the

Book of Exodus. We're getting to know Moses. There is a bit of a standoff happening now because God intends to fulfill his promise to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

And in order to do that, the children of Israel have to be set free from slavery, which is no small task because, man, they are supporting

the economy of Egypt.

What will happen if they're gone?

And so the undoing of all of that is causing an incredible amount of conflict and Pharaoh,

the king of Egypt.

He has this idea that he's deity himself,

and he doesn't know the God of the Hebrews.

And why should he be afraid of the God of the Hebrews?

And so his heart is hard.

And we can think about that, like we read in the scripture, that God hardened his heart, but

let's think about that.
