I'm Brian. It's great to be here with you today.

Glad we can kind of snuggle up here, gozy around the global campfire.

As we continue our journey through this month, obviously through to the end of the year.

But we are on the cusp of it, right? Christmas is right around the corner.

And we are just moving straight ahead.

So I was glad to see everybody as we're here today around the global campfire.

And as has become the custom around here, it's a book a day.

And today is a brand new book, an entire book, as we continue our journey through the minor

profits.

Today we'll read the book of Zephaniah. This is the ninth of the the minor prophets. Today we'll read the book of Zefaniah. This is the

ninth of the 12 minor prophets. And as with most of the other prophets in this grouping, we don't

know a whole lot about who Zefaniah was. The only substantial information we have is in the first verse verse of the book so we'll read that in just a second

one thing that scholars have found interesting is that when zephaniatrasis his ancestry he goes four

generations back instead of just naming his father.

And so there's nothing certain, but this might be because Zephaniah was a descendant

of the good and reforming King Hzekiah.

And that would give some explanation to Zephaniah's awareness of the world around him

and if this is his lineage then that would have given credibility to his work

Zephaniah's name means God has hidden

and he tells us that his message was given during the reign of Josiah
