It's great to be here with you around the global campfire again,

where we gather for a book a day.

Right now, it seems.

We are traveling quickly through the minor prophets and so that often does lead us through

a book a day and today is one of those days.

We are at the eighth of the twelve minor prophets.

Today's book is called Abakuk.

And we know just about nothing about Abakok's life, maybe even less than any of the other biblical

writers.

There's a Jewish tradition that speaks of him as the son of the Shunamite woman

that had been resurrected back to life through the ministry of Elisha in the book of Second Kings.

There's another tradition about Habakkuk that can be found written, actually, in the apocryphal book called Bell and the Dragon.

And that depicts Habakkuk ministering to Daniel while he's in the lion's den.

Um, I don't, I don't know.

These are traditions.

Scholars find them, especially like the Daniel and the Lionsden one, pretty legendary.

Like, not very likely to have any truth in it, but these are traditions and legends.
