with you today as we come together around the global campfire again and take the next step forward

on this grand adventure through the Bible this year.

We are moving fast, obviously, through the year and through the Bible.

So, yeah, we're going to read a whole book in one day.

Imagine that.

It seems like we're doing that just about every day right now.

But in the Old Testament, we're moving through the minor prophets.

We are at the seventh of 12 books of minor prophecy.

This is the book of Neum.

Honestly, just about nothing is known about

Naomi or his life.

His name, you know, that means comfort.

And we know he was from a place called Elkosh.

But whether that's a town or a village,

where that actually is is not known

kind of placing the time of Naim is a little bit easier

because of the references that are in the prophecy

that refer to historical events

so for example Naam mentions the Assyrian conquest of Thebes,

and that's in Egypt,

and that's a known event.
