Today is April 29th. Welcome to the Daily Audio Bible. I am

Frying. It is wonderful to be here with you today as we as we do what we do every day gather around the

global campfire coming out of the noise come into a safe place come, and let the Bible speak what it speaks, let it speak for itself,

what it has to say today, because we're just taking a journey through all of it so it's it's saying what it says

and we can rest in that and let it wash into our lives so let's do that.

We're in the book of judges.

We've been working with this story of the Judge Gideon

and we learned of his triumph over the Midianites, but then we also learned about his son of Bimylac

who kind of became a regional king of the area and all of

all of Gideon's sons were killed.

So this is the honor that Gideon got.

He rescued the land.

And in the end, all of his sons are executed in favor of one who tries to take all the authority and consolidate it.

There's one other son Jotham who lives and he brings a challenge but this is what we're

looking at we're looking at this time where people are doing everything that seems to be

right in their own eyes.

And so it's kind of crazy and that's kind of what happens when we do whatever is right in our own eyes.

So judges, chapter 9, verse 22 through 10,

verse 18 today.

Abimalek ruled over Israel three years and God sent an evil spirit between Abimalek and the leaders of Shekham and the leaders of Shekham dealt treacherously with Abimelek, that the violence done to the 70 sons of Gerubeel might come, and their blood be laid on a bimaleck their brother who killed them, and on the men of Shachem, who strengthened his hands to kill his brothers.

And the leaders of Shachem put men in ambush against him on the mountaintops and they
