Today is the first day of April. Welcome to the Daily Audio Bible. Welcome to the 91st day of the year.

It is wonderful to be here with you today around the global campfire.

And usually every April first for, I guess, as long as I can remember.

Well, not as long as I can remember, but as long as the Daily Audio Bible has been going on.

Let me switch it up a little bit. I've read from some really obscure kind of paraphrases and translations before that are humorous.

And we've traded places, Jill and I in the past or China and I in the past.

This year, I thought, you know, when I'm going to play a joke.

I can play a joke on you or a trick. Nobody's a fool here for April fools this year.

I just ask Jill and China and Ezekiel if they would join us here at Daily Audio Bible today and each take a little section of our reading.

So that's what we will do today as we commemorate the first day of April.

And then hang around at the end. There's a brand new item in the shop I'll tell you about.

But we have come together to take the next step forward in the scriptures and so let's do exactly that.

Today, Deuteronomy, chapters 18, 19 and 20.

The priests who are Levites as well as the whole tribe of Levi will not have any allotted inheritance with Israel.

They will eat from the offerings made to the Lord by fire which is their inheritance.

So they will not have an inheritance among their brothers. The Lord is their inheritance as he promised them.

This then will be the prescribed allotment for the priests from the people who offer sacrifices, whether in ox or sheep.

They are to give to the priests the shoulder, both cheeks and the stomach.

You are also to give them the first fruits from your grain, your new wine, your fresh oil, and the first fleece from your flock.

For the Lord your God has chosen them from all of your tribes to stand in service in the name of the Lord, them and their sons for all time.

When Levi comes from any of your towns throughout Israel where he resides and whenever he follows his heart's desire and comes to the place that the Lord will choose,

and he serves in the name of the Lord your God standing there before the Lord like all of his Bell-only vites.
