Hello everybody and welcome back. I'm Geron Halverson.

Today we have two amazing revelations in the doctrine and covenants to study.

We covered a bunch of smaller revelations with more day-to-day kind of affairs last time.

Today it's more groundbreaking, some important principles that the Lord is teaching in section 58 and section 59 of the doctrine

and covenants. To lead in though, let me talk about the weather for just a moment. I was just in

Tennessee, my old stomping grounds, love it there, but I was there in Memphis giving some

firesides and meeting some absolutely incredible people. And this was late April. I leave the hotel to go to the airport and it is so hot and

humid and sticky and muggy. And I, there's a part of me that loves it. That's the way it was

in my entire two years in Puerto Rico in the mission field. But to think of this Caribbean kind

of humidity and now transport it to the south, and I'm sitting there thinking,

it's only April. Wow. It's going to get intense here in a little while. Now, that's the case in

the southern United States, okay? Hot and sticky and muggy. And I want you to imagine moving to Missouri in August.

We saw this last week that we finally get in Section 57,

the Lord putting the pin in the map and saying,

Independence, Jackson County, Western Missouri,

that's the center place.

That's where the New Jerusalem

will be built. There's the place of the city of Zion. And if that's the very first revelation

there, putting the pin in the map, Section 58 is the first real revelation in terms of,

okay, now that we're here, now that we know why we're here, what am I supposed to do?

But again, to me, the irony is it's August.

Talk about the worst imaginable time to move to Missouri.
