All right, my friends, we are back and we only have one section to study this week.

But it's going to be an amazing seven days because section 45 is one of the good ones.

I mean, they're all good, don't get me wrong, but this is one of my favorites.

It definitely deserves its own week for us to ponder.

And the only hard part was deciding which of all the things that it covers,

how do I boil it down to seven

principles that we can really wrestle with this week? I want you to put yourself in the situation

of the saints that actually received it firsthand. We are still talking an early period of Kirtland.

The saints are gathering there quickly. It's going to be a place where they've received the law.

We already saw that in Section 42. They're soon to be, well, not soon, five years from now,

they're going to be endowed with power from on high once the Kirtland Temple is done.

But this is a place where we're starting to get a sense of the church really is organizing,

coming together, establishing a kingdom of God upon the earth.

If you remember section 29, that was a second coming end of the, end of the world, last days kind of revelation.

Section 43 that we studied last time, another one of those.

And today, section 45, yet another second coming type of section.

So for we saints of the latter days, this is one that

definitely applies to our circumstance. In fact, it might apply in more ways than we realize.

If you look at the section heading, it's going to tell us something about the immediate context

behind this revelation. And again, if the saints are starting to gather to the Kirtland area,

imagine all these newcomers moving in and the locals are kind of freaking out. Like,

what's going on here? Where all these Latter-day Saints? They didn't even know what to call

...
