| 0:00.0 | Welcome to the podcast is dedicated to making you a faster cyclist the ask a cycling coach podcast presented by trainer road. I'm coach Jonathan Lee with our head coach Chad Timberman everybody our CEO Nate Pearson. Hello, and this is where we answer the cycling and traffic on related questions that you submit at at |
| 0:15.7 | Jesus forgive me at a trainer.com slash podcast. You can also join us live every week. We record this usually Thursdays at 8 a.m. Pacific today. It's a Friday at 8 a.m. Pacific. |
| 0:26.1 | We'll get into why that happened very soon here. But you can join us live and you can join us at forum.trainer road.com. That's where you'll see it'll be the live stream will be embedded right there. |
| 0:38.1 | All the conversation will be happening there. You'll be able to search through and find the show notes. You'll be able to search and find discussions from other people on the topics that we're talking about. |
| 0:47.1 | It makes it all easy to find instead of it disappearing in Facebook and YouTube comments. So you can tune in live there and join us and it's a it's a great time. I guess the forum is kind of the first big thing then maybe to be transitioned to that. |
| 1:00.1 | I'm not for them. We're bearing the lead. This is a bigger thing is calendar. Of course. So trainer road. We have launched our new calendar product. And this is so that you can plan your training out so that you get faster. |
| 1:13.1 | Yeah. It's been asked for for a long time. I've wanted to do it for literally. I think I sent an email to another like English person like five six years ago. I've really wanted to do this for a really long time because not only is it useful what we have today, but it also opens up this entire new world of things that we can do. |
| 1:30.1 | Yeah. So we have a whole stream that we did of it yesterday. |
| 1:35.1 | Yep. And you can check that out. That's up on Facebook or on our YouTube channels. If you're driving, you know, listen to this as a podcast. And you can just tap that YouTube video and let it play in the background too. And then you can listen to it and grasp most of what we're talking about. |
| 1:48.1 | But it was also a screen share. So you could see the actual features working. So you can check that out on our YouTube channel. |
| 1:55.1 | I just want to go over the high level features. First one, people asked for this for a long time. When you add a training plan to your calendar, you can now switch the days around. |
| 2:04.1 | Super nice. It sounds kind of silly, but you can do it. And it's very nice. Yes. |
| 2:09.1 | Once it's then on your calendar, you can drive and drop workouts around. You can push a whole week out. So if you were going on vacation or something, you can move. It's very, very flexible. |
| 2:17.1 | You can switch out outside or train road rides in the weekend for outside rides. Also, if you did an outside ride, it can just replace that that ride that you did. |
| 2:27.1 | So you can plan outside rides, but not only that, you can plan outside runs, swims or insights runs, I guess, too. |
| 2:34.1 | Or what we call other workouts. So what I do is I keep track of like my weight training. And then skiing or exactly insert whatever activity you do. |
| 2:44.1 | And so what's cool of that about that too is when you add a triathlon plan before what we had is in the weekly descriptions, it had like the per day run and swim instructions. And this has run at this or do these kind of swim intervals in these drills. |
| 3:01.1 | Those are now actual workouts that could put on your calendar. So when you click on that workout, you'll see the instructions in description right there on the work out. |
| 3:09.1 | But it's not it's like it's own little like there's little cards that we put on the calendar. So you're if you're a triathlete now when you add a triathlon training plan, they're all there. Then you can switch them around. You can have your runs. You can switch them around to be on different days. |
| 3:21.1 | And another really nice thing that we have our ability to add annotations. This is kind of like in Gmail, I guess it'd be like all day events. |
| 3:30.1 | But how we use them is you can mark in things about your training or about your lifestyle that helps you adjust your training your subjective metrics. |
| 3:39.1 | Well, that's one. There's a whole bunch of things. So this is what I use it for. I do it for travel and I do it for sickness and I do it for rest. |
