This week we're getting curious about the moon. That's going to be so much fun. Are you ready to talk about the moon?

I'm not ready yet. I thought you were ready to rock and roll when we came into the studio. What can we do

to learn more about the moon? I think it will be a good idea to get closer to the moon. Well, how do you

think we can do that? Buckle up and get ready.

Okay, I think it's time for all our listeners to close their eyes and use their imaginations

as we get closer to the moon.

Moms and dads, if you're driving a car, please do not close your eyes.

But all you kiddos, close your eyes and let's imagine we're blasting off to the moon 10 nine

eight seven six five four three two one blast off oh wow this is awesome we are traveling closer to the moon. I wasn't expecting this. It's going to be

easier to learn about the moon as we get closer. Daddy, are we there yet? No, baby. We just took off.

The moon is very far away. I can see the moon. It's not that far away. Even though you could see

the moon and you can't see your friend's house, even if your friend lives a couple of minutes away, that doesn't mean that the moon isn't far away.

The moon is very far away, even though you could see it clearly at night.

The moon is about 239,000 miles or 384,000 kilometers away.

Just to give you an idea of how far away that is,

the United States is 2,680 miles wide from coast to coast.

You would have to drive across the United States 90 times

to cover the distance between the Earth and the Moon.

I have a good idea, though.
