This week we're getting curious about garbage.

Wait a second. What? We're curious about garbage week. This week we're getting curious about garbage. Wait a second. What?

We're curious about garbage? Did we already run out of ideas in episode 12? Why would we ever get curious about gross, disgusting, yucky garbage? Well, Daddy, garbage actually is really interesting.

Okay, if you insist.

Let's get curious about garbage.

Before we talk trash, let's start off with the question of the week.

How much garbage does a person make in debt?

I can't even imagine.

I feel like I'm taking the trash out every day or two. I probably make a lot of

garbage. And now let's talk about what happens after the trash goes out. Great idea. So in our

neighborhood, the trash goes to the curb once a week, where it is collected by the township. But what

happens next? It has to go somewhere. It doesn't just

disappear once it gets into the garbage truck. It goes to a landfill. Exactly. So there are many

ways to handle trash once it is collected, and we can't cover all of them in this episode,

but the most common method, by far, is taking them to a landfill.

Before we discuss landfills further, let's discuss the difference between a dump and a landfill,

because they are often confused. A dump is just a hole in the ground to put garbage in.

Right. Dumps are a very basic way of getting rid of trash. With a dump, a hole is

formed in the ground and trash is dumped into the hole until it is full. Nothing very advanced about it.
