I'm really excited for this episode because Olivia and I get to talk about something that we both really, really love.

This week we're talking about Sesame Street.

Yeah, and it's going to be so much fun.

So it's been 32 years since I've been a five-year-old,

like Olivia, is today. And lots of things have changed since I was five years old. Kids didn't have cell phones back in 1986. We were lucky to have a pager and access to a payphone. We didn't have iTunes,

Pandora, or Spotify. We had the radio, and we just waited for them to play our favorite songs. We didn't have iTunes, Pandora, or Spotify. We had the radio and we just waited for them to play our

favorite songs. We didn't have FaceTime growing up, so when I wanted to talk to someone, I dulled their

number that I had memorized, sometimes using something called a rotary phone. Ask your parents about

that. But there is one thing I loved as a kid that kids around the world still love today, and that's Sesame Street.

Sesame Street debuted in 1969, so in a few short months, the show will be celebrating its 50-year anniversary,

meaning that it's been entertaining and educating kids and adults for 50 years. Also, as we record,

big news was just released about one of the Sesame Street puppeteers. His name is Carol Spinney,

and he is the topic of our question of the week. Mr. Spinney is now 84 years old,

and he has been playing two of the Muppets since the very beginning of Sesame Street.

One of those two Muppets is Big Bird.
