where we learn about lots of the different birthday traditions we take part in.

That's a good one. What date on the calendar has the least birthdays? Okay, so let's start

by discussing why we celebrate birthdays. Celebrating birthdays actually started

as a pagan tradition. The pagans believed that bad luck would sometimes follow people during life

changes. Because a birthday is a life change, the pagan started celebrating birthdays with friends and

family, to surround the birthday boy or girl with lots of love and happiness, to make sure that bad luck

would not ruin the special day. When birthday celebrations started, people would usually not give

the birthday boy or girl presents, but would instead bring lots of good thoughts and wishes.

Nowadays, we have lots of birthday celebrations throughout the calendar year, so let's discuss
