The net would appear to be tightening this morning, ladies and gentlemen.

There's talk of more lockdowns at 10pm curfews for pubs and restaurants,

amber alerts for university towns,

has students return and bans on travel altogether. The Prime Minister says a second total lockdown

would be, in his words, completely wrong. And I don't think there's anyone sensible out there

that thinks it would be a good idea. But still, there don't seem to be enough moderate voices

who are prepared to risk managing COVID better while still allowing most of us to go about our daily business.

Yesterday, there were more people out on the streets.

I was over in the West End around the Mayfair area.

It seemed a little bit busier than it was the last time I was over there.

More people travelling on public transport.

But still, there are teachers not turning up for work and school children being sent home

because of one or two new infections.

The latest outbreak, of course, is up in the northeast of England and in parts of Wales.

We're going to be seeing curfews.

We're going to be seeing people being told not to travel unless they absolutely have a great excuse.

I have no idea what that even means.

Today we'll speak to William Clouston from the Social Democrat Party, the one politician,

one political organisation, I would say, that has come out against the way the lockdown is being

handled, the way the strategy for us to get out of this is being done. And I agree with William
