Summary

The role of HR in an organization has been widely misunderstood by both employers and employees. While many people think that HR strictly enforces internal rules and has no impact on an organization’s bottom line, that couldn’t be further from the truth. HR exists to create value in the marketplace through your employees and your organization. Dave Ulrich came onto YAP to discuss the intricacies of HR and how business leaders can upgrade their HR practices, even if they don’t have a dedicated HR department. Dave is a Distinguished Fellow in the National Academy of Human Resources and the Co-Director of Michigan’s Human Resource Executive Program. He’s also the co-founder of the RBL Group, which develops custom leadership, HR, and organization solutions.
