Hello and welcome to another edition of the Byron York Show, the no-chit chat podcast.

We'd like to get right into it and what we're going to get into today is something you

might call a cultural indoctrination war.

So let me explain what I'm talking about.

Recently, leftist activists, activists on the left and their allies in the media, that's

a pretty big group, had a really big success labeling a bill passed by the Florida legislature

as the don't say gay bill.

You remember, you heard the phrase all the time, there was actually a video of three Florida

state senators kind of dancing down the hall in the Florida Capitol singing a don't say

gay song.

So what can you say, it became, it became a widely repeated phrase.

Now it was based on a claim for which there was no evidence that the Republican-sponsored

bill would ban the mention of homosexuality in Florida schools.

Now in fact, the bill, which has now been signed into law by Governor DeSantis, prohibited

quote, classroom instruction on quote, sexual orientation or gender identity by teachers or

other adults in kindergarten through third grade.

It was limited from kindergarten through third grade.

And it also said such instruction after third grade must be quote, age appropriate or

develop mentally appropriate.

In other words, by specifying what instruction after third grade should be like, it was

clearly allowing classroom instruction on these matters after third grade.

Nevertheless, the don't say gay campaign from LGBTQIA plus activists was an enormous success.
