Today is Day 79.

We are in the Gospel of Mark reading chapter 9 verses 14 through 29.

Today we are going to hear about another exorcism.

And the words of the father of this little boy who is possessed by demons are just very beautiful and powerful.

So listen for that.

I'm reading from the New American translation of the Bible,

but I ask you first to join me in prayer so the Holy Spirit can help us open our hearts to God's

Holy Word. In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, amen. Come, Holy Spirit,

fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love.

Send forth your spirit and they shall be created and you will renew the face of the earth.

Amen.

A reading from the Holy Gospel of Mark chapter 9,

verses 14 through 29. When they came to the disciples, they saw a large crowd around them

and scribes arguing with them. Immediately on seeing him, the whole crowd was utterly amazed. They ran up to him

and greeted him. He asked them, what are you arguing about with them? Someone from the crowd answered

him, teacher, I have brought to you my son possessed by a mute demon.

Wherever it seizes him, it throws him down.
