Hey, welcome back to the Catholic Sprouts podcast, where we are walking through the Gospels this school year.

We are on day 78, reading from the Gospel of Mark, chapter 9, verses 1 through 13. In today's reading, we are going to hear

Mark's account of the transfiguration. I'm reading from the new American translation of the Bible,

and before we dive in, as always, let's pray that God's holy word can be alive and active in our hearts and deliver to us the message

he wants for us. In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, amen.

Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love.

Send forth your spirit and they shall be created and you will renew

the face of the earth. Amen. In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

amen. A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Mark, chapter 9 verses 1 through 13. He also said to them, Amen, I say to you, there are some

standing here who will not taste death until they see that the kingdom of God has come in power.

After six days, Jesus took Peter, James, and John, and led them up a high mountain apart by themselves,

and he was transfigured before them, and his clothes became dazzling white, such as no fuller on earth could bleach them.

Then Elijah appeared to them, along with Moses, and they were conversing with Jesus. Then

Peter said to Jesus in reply, Rabbi, it is good that we are here. Let us make three

tents, one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah. He hardly knew what to say. They were so terrified.

Then a cloud came, casting a shadow over them. Then from the cloud came a voice. This is my beloved son. Listen to him. Suddenly, looking

around, they no longer saw anyone but Jesus alone with them. As they were coming down

from the mountain, he charged them not to relate what they had seen to anyone, except when the
