Hey, welcome back to the Catholic Sprouts podcast, where we are reading our way through the Gospels this school year.

Today is day 62 of this journey.

We are in the Gospel of Mark, and we'll be reading chapter 3,

verses 20 through 30 today. In this, we are going to continue to hear about Jesus' conflict,

growing conflict, with the scribes. I'm reading from the New American Translation of the Bible.

I encourage you to follow along and take notes.

And of course, keep in mind that God's Holy Word is alive and active.

So let's open our hearts to receive his message.

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, amen.

Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love. Send forth your spirit, and they shall be created, and you will renew the face of the earth.

A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Mark, chapter 3, verses 20 through 30.

He came home. Again the crowd gathered made it impossible for them to even eat.

When his relatives heard of this, they set out to seize him, for they said,

He is out of his mind.

The scribes who had come from Jerusalem said he is possessed by Beelzebub,

and by the prince of demons, he drives out demons.

Summoning them, he began to speak to them in parables.

How can Satan drive out Satan? If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.
