Hey, Sprouts, welcome back to the Catholic Sprouts podcast where we are reading through the Gospels this school year.

Today is day 61 of this journey.

We are in the Gospel of Mark.

And today we are reading from chapter 3,

verses 1 through 19. In this, we will hear about Jesus' continued healing and his continued

conflict with the Pharisees. I'm reading from the New American Translation of the Bible. I encourage you to take notes and follow

along. Also, let's remember that God's holy word is alive and active. So join me in prayer as we pray

that God will help us receive his message today. In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the

Holy Spirit, amen.

Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love.

Send forth your Spirit and they shall be created and you will renew the face of the earth.

Amen. In the name of the Father and of the Son,

and of the Holy Spirit, amen. A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Mark,

Chapter 3, verses 1 through 19. Again, he entered the synagogue. There was a man there who had a withered hand. They watched him

closely to see if he would cure him on the Sabbath so that they might accuse him. He said to the

man with a withered hand, come up here before us. Then he said to them, is it lawful to do good on

the Sabbath rather than to do evil,

to save life rather than to destroy it? But they remained silent. Looking around at them with

anger and grieved at their hardness of heart, he said to the man, stretch out your hand. He stretched it out, and his hand was restored.
