Today is day 54 of this journey.

And this week we are introducing ourselves to the Gospel of Mark, which we will begin to read in just a couple of days. So far, we have met Mark the person. We learned

when he wrote this gospel and who he wrote this gospel for. Today we're going to look at the

gospel itself and understand the

structure so that we can receive it well in just a few days. But before that, please join me in

Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful, and kindle in them the fire of your love.

and of the Holy Spirit, amen. So the Gospel of Mark, all of these Gospels have a structure,

unfortunately, Mark's has probably the least clear structure for us to follow.

However, he does seem to just present the gospel the good news of Jesus Christ as he heard it preached by Peter.

And I think he did this strategically, knowing that he wasn't an

apostle, but that he had a duty to record the words and the memories of St. Peter, the first

leader of the church. Now, inside of Mark's Gospel, there are two parts. And we kind of see the first
