Today is day 53 of our journey through the Gospels in a school year.

Thanks for coming back.

We are introducing the Gospel of Mark this week.

We have already talked about him as an author when he wrote it, and today we are going

to talk about who he wrote this gospel for.

Because if you remember from your English classes, everything, whether it's a short story,

a letter or the gospel, always has an intended

audience. And knowing who that intended audience was is so important. Now, before we dive into

this, let's just bring our hearts to God in prayer that he can prepare as well to receive his

holy word.

Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love.

Send forth your spirit and they shall be created and you will renew the face of the earth. Amen.

evangelist write his gospel for? Well, it's clear, and we'll point these things out as we

start reading the gospel in a few days, but that this gospel was written for Gentile

believers in the Roman Empire. Now, there's a couple of reasons why we know this. The first is that
