Today is Day 165 of this journey.

We are in the Gospel of John today reading chapter 5 verses 30 through 47, where we will hear the witness to Jesus. Now, as always, I'm reading from the new American translation of the Bible,

but before we dive in, let's pray. In the name of the Father and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, amen.

Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful, and kindle in them the fire of your love.

Send forth your Spirit, and they shall be created, and you will renew the face of the earth.

Amen.

In the name of the Father and of the Son,

and of the Holy Spirit, amen.

A reading from the Holy Gospel, according to John,

Chapter 5, verses 30 through 47.

If I testify on my own behalf,

my testimony cannot be verified. But there is another who testifies on my own behalf, my testimony cannot be verified.

But there is another who testifies on my behalf, and I know that the testimony he gives on my behalf is true.

You have sent emissaries to John, and he testifies to the truth.

I do not accept testimony from a human being, but I say this so that you may be

saved. He is a burning and shining lamp, and for well you were content to rejoice in his light.

But I have testimony greater than John's. The works that the Father gave me to accomplish, these works that I
