We are reading the Gospels this school year,

and today is day 158 of this journey.

We are in the Gospel of John, reading today chapter 2 verses 1 through 12,

where we will hear the story of Jesus' first miracle at the wedding feast at Cana.

Now, I'm reading from the new revised American translation of the Bible. I encourage you to

follow along. But before we begin, let's pray.

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, amen.

Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love.

Send forth your spirit, and they shall be created, and you will renew the face of

the earth, amen. In the name of the Father and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, amen. A reading from

the Holy Gospel, according to John, chapter 2, verses 1 through 12.

On the third day, there was a wedding in Cana in Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there.

Jesus and his disciples were also invited to the wedding.

When the wine ran short, the mother of Jesus said to him,

they have no wine. And Jesus said to her, woman, how does your concern affect me? My hour has not

yet come. His mother said to the servants, do whatever he tells you. Now there were six stone jars

there for Jewish ceremonial washings, each holding 20 to 30 gallons. Jesus told them,
