Today is day 154 of this journey, and all week we have been introducing the gospel of John. We have already talked about the author of this gospel, when this gospel was written, who this gospel was written

for, and today we are going to dive into the themes that we will see in the gospel of John.

But before we dive into that, let's pray. In the name of the

Father and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, amen. Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful

and kindle in them the fire of your love. Send forth your spirit and they shall be created,

what are the themes that we should be looking for? Well, first and foremost, I need you to realize that John's gospel is going to heavily emphasize the divinity of Jesus Christ, that he has a heavenly identity, that he is eternal,

that he is fully God, and that he has come to pursue a mission that is not of this world, but is eternal. And so like we have been saying throughout this

journey through the gospels, he has not come to overthrow Rome.

He has come to overthrow the true enemy, the prince of darkness, Satan, to destroy both

Now, the next major theme that is going to be a very big thing for us to put our minds around is the revelation that

God is a family, that God, the Father, exists, but also God, the Son, and that they are in

relationship, and that the love, the perfect love between God, the Father, and God, the Son

is so big, so immense, so powerful that it has formed a third person of the Trinity,
