Hey, Sprouts, welcome back to the Catholic Sprouts podcast where we are reading through the Gospels this school year.

Today is day 155 of this journey.

We are on our final day of introducing the gospel of John before we dive in.

We've already talked about the author, when this gospel was written, who it was written for,

and which themes we should be on the lookout for. Today, we're going to talk about people, people found only in John's gospel. But before we

get there, let's pray. In the name of the Father and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, amen.

Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love.

Send forth your spirit spirit and they shall be

created and you will renew the face of the earth. Amen. In the name of the Father and of the Son,

and of the Holy Spirit, amen. So who are the people you will meet in John's Gospel, that you haven't met in any of the

Gospels yet?

Well, here is a quick list.

First of all, you are going to meet Nicodemus.

Nicodemus is a well-respected Pharisee.

Ooh, man, a Pharisee, that's good.

How fun.

And he is a leader of the people, but he is unique in that he identifies

Jesus as the Messiah. Although he's scared of what other people will think because he wants to

meet with Jesus at night, he is definitely a disciple seeking truth. Next, we meet the Samaritan woman at the well.
